Valchromat top - oak base

Utilizing modern technology while rooted in traditional crafts

Veneer have been used for thousands of years to decorate surfaces and to minimize the use of expensive materials. Neer takes this ancient technique one step further by skipping the veneer altogether and engraving a wood structure directly on colored MDF.

The crafted base that meets the modern top is the theme for the whole series. This is emphasized in the design but also in the choice of material and production techniques. To create a strong identity Neer focuses on the decorative qualities of the veneering technique as seen in traditional inlays and intarsia.

Neer is a series of furniture shown here as a low table. The legs are solid oak wood and the top is colored MDF from Valchromat.
