Old handmade bowls often have marks from the tools used to make them. CNC milled objects have small traces from the movement of the machine. Instead of sanding these away they are enlarged to become a decoration with references to traditional ornamentation. At the same time these traces, in combination with the outer shape of the object, tell the story of how it is made. The series consists of varied sized objects with concave or convex top surface. 

Trace was showcased for the first time internationally in Milan 2016 as part of the exhibition Structure. Since then the series have been handmade in small batches and sold through Kollekted By in Oslo. In 2020 new sizes and shapes will be part of Sverre Uhnger’s exhibition Revisit at Galleri Format Oslo 16 January - 8 March.
